- Own and deliver the daily container plan, ensuring containers are scheduled based on operational priority.
- Produce detailed resource plans to assign labour (gangs) effectively to container activities.
- Prioritise container allocation to bays, adjusting dynamically based on business needs.
- Manage bay turnover by efficiently moving empty containers off bay and bringing new ones on.
- Allocate palletised loads to bays and coordinate live load trailer unloading.
- Liaise closely with shunt operations to balance inbound and outbound movement, optimising bay and driver utilisation.
- Plan and assign labour across all container and bay activities, ensuring full alignment with workload and shift patterns.
- Allocate PPT drivers effectively to support operational flow across the site.
- Conduct daily agency performance reviews to ensure labour standards are met.
- Take ownership of the core handballer devan count, ensuring accurate tracking and efficient deployment of manual resource.
- Produce the labour and bay plan for the next shift to support seamless handovers and readiness.
- Schedule outbound picks ahead of load-by times.
- Coordinate consolidation and shortfall management to protect outbound operations.
- Monitor and manage Co-pack workload, issuing picks where required.
- Investigate and resolve inbound stock discrepancies (over/under).
- Clear issue pallets from the 'sin bin' and manage NOK1 (rework) areas to prevent gridlock.
- Escalate system issues and performance faults promptly to minimise downtime.
- Manage account access for new users and process password resets.
- Oversee wearable and truck-mounted terminals, escalating faults to customer IT.
- Log outages and system disruptions for statistical reporting.
- Produce operational reports including:
- End-of-shift handover summaries
- Empty container reports (e.g. to Bridge)
- Weekly productivity and KPI reports
- Enforce process and scanning adherence across operational staff.
- Train and upskill team members (including admin and supervisors) on systems and RF gun use.
- Communicate shortages clearly with relevant teams for swift resolution.
- Manage and distribute the cleaning schedule for bays.
- Act as a key communication point between internal departments and external contacts to ensure seamless stock and container flow.
- Proven experience in container planning, labour allocation, or warehouse resource coordination.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems and operational flow.
- Proficiency with SAP and EWM systems.
- Ability to communicate clearly and influence across all levels of the business.
- Exceptional attention to detail and time management skills.
- Knowledge of handballer/container unloading operations.
- Analytical thinking and confident decision-making under pressure.
- Must be able to work a rotating shift pattern (earlies and lates), including every third Saturday.
