
Infrastructure Engineer

- Design, build, and manage Windows-based on-premise servers, virtualised environments (Hyper-V), and Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure
- Support both physical and virtual hardware to ensure service reliability and business continuity
- Monitor infrastructure performance and availability; perform regular maintenance including patching, updates, and hardware/firmware upgrades
- Implement and maintain robust security measures aligned with industry standards and compliance requirements
- Lead and deliver infrastructure projects end-to-end, from planning through to execution
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date network and infrastructure documentation for audit and operational reference
- Provide regular reporting on performance, incidents, and continuous improvements
- Participate in a shift rota covering business hours (8am-6pm), and provide out-of-hours support as part of an on-call schedule
- Travel to GC locations as required, with mandatory monthly visits to our Billericay office
- Strong hands-on experience with virtualisation (Hyper-V), physical Windows servers, SAN/NAS storage, and iSCSI/Fibre Channel connectivity
- Proficiency in Windows Server 2012-2019, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Failover Clustering, etc.
- Experience with Rubrik or equivalent backup solutions
- Solid background in managing on-premise data centres
- Hands-on experience with Azure (VMs, NSGs, Storage Accounts) and cloud migration initiatives
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (VLAN, CIDR, LLDP, VRRP, SNMP)
- Disaster recovery planning and regular testing experience
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Intune, Hybrid/Azure-joined endpoints
- Asset and configuration management
- Skilled in writing and maintaining clear technical documentation
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact at all business levels and explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with Change Advisory Board (CAB) processes and implementation of changes
- Self-starter with the ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively
- Proven ability to scope, implement, and maintain infrastructure solutions from start to finish
- Professional certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, MCSA, AZ-700, AZ-900)
- Experience configuring and managing network devices (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Prisma Cloud, switches, routers, WiFi)
- Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics and Power BI
- Experience with Jira and Confluence
