Tenancy Relations Officer Maternity Leave Cover Job descriptionAre you enthusiastic about working in a team dedicated to making the private rented sector in Sheffield safer and more secure, committed to upholding standards of management and regulation in the sector, with a keen interest in getting to grips with complex legal problems?We are looking to recruit a Tenancy Relations Officer to work within our Private Housing Standards team based at Solpro Business Park. This is a temporary role to cover maternity leave.You will join a team of experienced, supportive and motivated staff. You will advise landlords and tenants about occupancy rights and tenancy law and investigate allegations of harassment and unlawful eviction within the required criminal investigation frameworks. This is an especially challenging and exciting time to be involved in this area of work as during the lifetime of the post, it is expected that the Renters Rights Act will come into force, bringing a whole raft of new powers and enforcement duties.You will have:the ability to diagnose complex legal issues,
a knowledge of landlord -tenant law
excellent communication skills,
a commitment to investigate allegations thoroughly and impartially
the skills to deal with challenging and difficult situations calmy, sensitively but firmly and
