About the Role:We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Section Engineer for a 1-year civils project based in Plymouth. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a major infrastructure development, contributing to the successful delivery of complex and high-profile civil engineering works.Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage sections of site construction works, ensuring adherence to project plans and timelines
  • Coordinate subcontractors, materials, and equipment
  • Interpret technical drawings and ensure works are carried out in line with specifications
  • Monitor health and safety compliance and promote best practices on site
  • Conduct site inspections and manage quality control procedures
  • Prepare and maintain site records, including daily diaries and progress reports
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Section Engineer on large-scale civil engineering projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, technical standards, and health and safety regulations
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Excellent communication and team coordination skills
  • Relevant degree or qualification in Civil Engineering or related field
  • CSCS card required; SMSTS or SSSTS preferred
