Salary: £90 – £110+ per day (Depending on Experience)

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on making a real difference in a child’s learning and development.As a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant, you will provide personalised support to individual pupils with special educational needs, helping them access the curriculum and develop both academically and socially. You will work closely with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure that each pupil receives tailored support and guidance.Main Responsibilities of a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant (SEND TA):
  • Provide one-to-one support for pupils with SEND, tailoring assistance to individual needs.
  • Assist in delivering differentiated lessons and interventions.
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and promote positive learning attitudes.
  • Prepare and organise resources to support learning activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to meet pupil needs.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
  • Assist with school trips and extracurricular activities as required.
1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant (SEND TA) Requirements:
  • Experience working with children with SEND in a UK school or similar setting.
  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ, or equivalent (desirable).
  • A degree in Psychology, SEN, Counselling or a similar field.
  • Knowledge of SEND strategies and interventions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting pupils.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
