In line with Awaab’s Law, we’re expanding our Property Services team and are seeking a skilled Painter & Decorator Support Technician (Damp & Mould) with painting and decorating expertise to help us deliver vital improvements to our residents’ living conditions.About the RoleThis is a practical, hands-on role with a primary focus on the removal and cleaning of damp and mould from our properties. Once the affected areas have been treated and made safe, you’ll carry out painting and decorating works to restore the property to a high standard.You’ll work closely with surveyors, supervisors, and other trades to ensure all hazards are fully resolved before any finishing work begins. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will help us meet our legal obligations and deliver a service our residents can rely on.Key ResponsibilitiesResponding to reports of damp and mould, completing emergency works within 24 hours and non-emergency works within 7 daysCleaning and treating affected areas using safe, effective methodsWorking collaboratively with surveyors and other trades to address root causesCarrying out internal and external painting and decorating once hazard removal is completePreparing surfaces, including plastering, rendering, and making goodUndertaking minor maintenance tasks, including basic carpentry and plumbingMaintaining accurate records of work completed and materials usedEnsuring full compliance with health and safety regulationsWhat We’re Looking ForWe’re looking for someone experienced, proactive, and passionate about improving living conditions. You’ll need:A recognised qualification (NVQ/BTEC) or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in painting/decoratingA solid understanding of damp, mould, and the requirements of Awaab’s LawThe ability to work independently and as part of a teamStrong time management and communication skillsPhysical fitness and confidence working at heightA full, valid UK driving licenceExperience in other trades, health and safety training, and basic IT skills would be advantageous.Why Work for Paradigm?We’re a not-for-profit housing provider managing over 17,000 homes across the South East.
