Children's Residential Support WorkerTemporary Work£12.50-£13.50 p/hWe are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Children's Residential Support Worker to join our team. As a Childrens Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the registered manager and deputy manager in the day-to-day running of our residential home. Your primary responsibility will be to provide high-quality care and support to children and young people, ensuring their individual needs are met and they are treated with respect and dignity.Key Responsibilities:Undertake shift work as per staff rota and work collaboratively as part of a team.
Work under the direction of the registered manager and act as a deputy when required.
Support the registered manager in various aspects of the home's operations, including care standards, recruitment and training, communication, premises management, and financial matters.
Assess and evaluate the individual needs of the children and young people, involving relevant professional agencies and relatives to create personalized care plans.
Provide personal care and attention to young people, following individual care plans and maintaining a polite, friendly, warm, and supportive approach.
Promote the social and emotional well-being and development of young people, consistently striving to enhance their skills.
Ensure compliance with statutory and legal requirements, including COSHH, health and safety, and the Health & Social Care Act, to maintain a safe environment.
Support the registered manager in running the home effectively, meeting all legislation and regulations related to environmental health, infection control, building control, planning, and health and safety.
Stay updated with quality standards, related legislation, and inspection frameworks, and implement them as necessary. Contribute to inspections conducted by OFSTED and external professionals.
Follow individual care plans, administer medication accurately, and maintain appropriate records.
Establish and maintain effective means of communication and good relationships with young people, relatives, employees, and external professionals.
Conduct regular assessments to ensure a friendly and supportive caring environment.
Support young people with their personal financial arrangements while maintaining confidentiality and honesty in all transactions.
Assist the registered manager with prospective/potential young people for the home, providing relevant information, guided tours, and ensuring adequate arrangements are made for every resident.
Liaise with other staff, parents, and carers as necessary, maintaining a high level of professionalism.
Promote and safeguard the welfare of young people, staying updated on changes in safeguarding legislation and policy.
Collaborate and support education staff with the daily educational needs of young people.
Attend relevant internal and external meetings/trainings as requested.
Participate in internal supervision, the company's annual performance appraisal process, and undertake relevant staff development.
Ensure the health and safety of yourself and others.
Provide cover in other areas as required.
Secure all buildings when leaving the site.
Carry out any other appropriate duties as requested by the registered manager, responsible individual, or line manager.Qualifications and Experience:Minimum of 1years of experience in a similar role within a residential care setting.
NVQ level 3 or 4 In children.
Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
