DescriptionComplex Needs Education AssistantLocation: Braford, West YorkshireJob Type: Full time (Monday - Friday) 8:30am-3:00pmContract Type: Temporary, Term Time OnlyVeritas Education are searching for Complex Needs Education Assistants to work in a specialist primary school in Bradford. You will be supporting primary aged children with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the classroom. As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with profound and multiple learning disabilities to reach their full potential. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of these exceptional students.Key Responsibilities: * Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with PMLD.
  • Assist in creating and implementing individualised education plans (IEPs).
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Assist with personal care needs, including feeding, toileting, and mobility.
  • Collaborate with teachers and therapists to adapt and modify instructional materials.
  • Monitor and record student progress and behaviour.
  • Encourage communication and social interaction among students using a range of communication methods.
Requirements: * Proven experience supporting adults and/or children with complex needs is essential.
  • Personal experience supporting a family member with SEN/PMLD is also valued.
  • Level 2 Team Teach is essential, although this training can be offered by Veritas.
  • Safeguarding training is essential, although this training can be offered by Veritas.
  • GCSE English and Maths is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of SEN is essential.
  • Strong communication, empathy, and patience are crucial. The ability to handle challenging situations with calm and professionalism is a must.
  • A dedication to improving the lives of students with complex needs and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to adapt to the varying needs of students and the school environment.
  • A moving and handling qualification is preferred.
  • Candidates must hold or be willing to apply for an enhanced DBS upon registration.
  • Have proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
