We are looking to upgrade our core systems with purpose - as well as maximising our productivity across the back office, we want
to aggressively build out digital solutions into resource and logistics management underpinned by financial, commercial and procurement improvements.
We need energetic, knowledgeable, and passionate individuals to be the bridge between our business and technical teams to help meet ambitious outcomes. You will have the flexibility to be based at any of our main office locations, and you'll become a well-
known face on our key contracts including Sizewell C, HS2, CPS M25, and our Highways projects amongst many others.What you'll be doing
  • Will be our lead technologist. You will understand and immerse yourself in strategic technologies from Microsoft, Oracle, Amazon, and Google. You will understand, or quickly build an understanding of, more industry specific technologies from Autodesk, Trimble, Causeway and Confirm. We also expect you to work with SMEs and organisations such as universities to bring innovation into our solutions. You will immerse yourself in, and lead from the front on our burgeoning AI solutions as we look to deploy these into operational activity and all that entails.
  • Will be our lead solutions problem solver. You will lead practically on major and minor programmes of change - problem solving, optioneering, and driving technical change while managing workload (and the resource in your team). Your knowledge and leadership will be required when critical situations arise. You will foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging the wider team to stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and driving the adoption of new tools and techniques where appropriate.
  • Will ensure that our standards of architecture and activity meet our governance and widely recognised best-practice standards as well as ensuring alignment with our overall IT strategy. You will ensure your, your team's outputs, build and help maintain cost-efficient, scalable solutions. You will own the assurance of designs for what is delivered via our technical and project delivery teams and hold them and our service teams to account to improve our quality and reliability.
  • Will support our business' bidding and mobilisation of contracts by engaging and explaining our current capabilities, thinking
laterally and creatively on how to meet client needs, and develop narratives around digital innovation. You will focus on how to
address the operational and cultural challenges of a highly mobile workforce with requirements to consume services securely
from corporate devices across the UK 24 x 7.
  • Will lead our Architects. You will ensure high technical standards of output from the solution architects as well as mentoring and development of your team across a range of experience and seniority. You will liaise and co-ordinate with the full range of operational technical capability, from field engineering, infrastructure, and service teams, to ensure our solutions are optimised
for delivery into the business.
  • Will be an effective conduit of knowledge with colleagues across IT and business teams. You will be in regular contact with our CIO, Enterprise Architects, IT Senior Leadership Team as well as business and digital leaders, and critically, all facets of our workforce. You will understand business objectives and match both individual solutions and the wider integration of solutions to facilitate these objectives, with an emphasis on ease of adoption to key processes for our key stakeholders on our project
