
Clinical Pharmacist (Band 6 to 7 Progression)

- Provide a clinical pharmacy service to a variety of specialities
- Support safe prescribing and medicines optimisation
- Support medicines safety and quality improvement
- Provide medicines related advice to colleagues and patients
- Support the safe and timely discharge of patients
- Support clinical screening and accuracy checking within the dispensary
- Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent
- Willing to work towards or completed Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical or Technical Pharmacy, or equivalent demonstrable experience
- Registered as a pharmacist with The General Pharmaceutical Council
- MSc in Clinical or Technical Pharmacy
- Working towards or completed Independent Prescribing qualification
- Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
- Demonstrate post-registration experience with substantial hospital experience
- Able to demonstrate experience of providing a pharmacy clinical service to patients in a range of specialities
- Experience in providing and evaluating pharmacy education & training including mentorship
- Experience in provision of pharmacy expertise to the clinical governance agenda
- Experience of providing post-graduate level training and/or education
- Able to communicate effectively with a wide range of healthcare professionals and patients
- Able to provide expert advice on the use of medicines to treat patients within a specialist area
- Able to undertake prescription review of complex medication regimes
- Specialised knowledge of the treatment of patients in an range of medical sub-specialities
- Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent
