
Senior Electronics Engineer

- Plan project activities and assess resource needs, ensuring both technical objectives and budget constraints are met.
- Lead the identification and management of technical risks, putting effective mitigation measures in place.
- Create innovative design solutions, including circuit schematics, detailed specifications, validation plans, and review documentation.
- Carry out comprehensive verification and validation work, and provide support for Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
- Manage design modifications, ensuring they are accurately documented, formally approved, correctly released, and securely archived.
- Participate in peer assessments and contribute to structured design review processes.
- Undertake electronics cooling simulations, with training available if required.
- Lead DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) sessions to identify and address potential weaknesses.
- Refine designs to achieve bill of materials (BOM) cost targets and stay within development labour budgets.
- Seek out and introduce process improvements to enhance design efficiency and long-term reliability.
- Guide and support junior engineers and subcontracted designers in technical matters.
- Assist production teams during prototype manufacturing to quickly address and resolve engineering issues.

- Degree in Electronics or equivalent experience.
- Highly proficient in electronic circuit design and PCB layout (ideally with Altium).
- Strong understanding of EMC design principles.
- Experience with PCB assemblies with JTAG interfaces and electronics packaging design.
- Hands-on experience with microcontrollers and microcode.
- Skilled in design for test and documenting functional test coverage.
- Expertise in analogue circuit design for sensors and interfaces.
- Ability to assess power/battery solutions for challenging environments.
- Accurate project estimation skills, delivering independently.
