Job descriptionSEN Teaching Assistant Required in Pontyclun Autism & Challenging Behaviour Immediate StartI am currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a school in Pontyclun who specialise in children with Autism and associated needs.Daily Rate: Minimum £95 – £103Location: PontyclunContract Type: Full-Time, Long-TermStart Date: ImmediateDuration: Monday – Friday (Full-Time)Needs of students: Profound Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASDs) and associated challenging behaviours.Age range: 5-19 yearsThe successful applicants will have:
  • Knowledge or Experience of working with children and young people with special educational needs
  • Demonstrable experience of the ability to understand and support children with developmental difficulty or disability
  • Knowledge/Awareness of Autism
  • Knowledge/Awareness of Challenging Behaviour
  • Have passion and belief in helping our pupils to achieve their full potential
  • Valid and enhanced child or child and adult DBS check
The role will consist of:
  • Offering support to the class teacher
  • Provide support for individuals and groups of pupils, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans
  • Building good student – teacher rapport
