This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. Established in 1904, we have a strong tradition of academic excellence, reflected in first-class student education, along with world-leading research that has a real impact around the globe.We are looking for an Impact Officer to play a central role in supporting the Institute to report on the reach and impact of food systems research at the university. You will provide effective monitoring and evaluation support for the Global Food and Environment Institute, a cross faculty Institute based in the School of Earth and Environment. You will work with the Institute operations team, including the Director and Manager of the Institute to report on the impact of the institute. It is expected that you will fulfil a range of duties including supporting a couple of large international projects based in Africa.You will provide reporting support to the CGAIR projects ClimBer and iSpark including the reporting of outputs and impacts to the funding agency and collection and maintaining the projects impact data from multiple PIs. This will all be done while working closely with the project teams which are based in Africa and the UK.You will also assist in the planning and delivery of outward-facing activities such as workshops, public lectures and industry-focused events, working with non-academic audiences to maximise their impact. You will be based at the University of Leeds and appropriate mentorship and career development support will be provided in line with career stage as part of the role.To support and shape the Institute’s ambitious work plan, we are seeking a motivated and proactive Impact Officer to work with GFEI. You will have experience of knowledge exchange between academic researchers and user groups. You will have excellent reporting skills and experience in working on multi-partner projects. A passion for translating research into real impact and creating a sustainable food system would be a benefit.What we offer in return
