Regional Compliance AuditorWe are looking for a new Regional Compliance Auditor to join us in a full-time permanent position.As a FTSE 100 business with an ambitious growth agenda, you will be responsible for providing our trade business with independent assurance of operational, legal, and procedural compliance in respect of stock and cash management, health and safety and inventory verification.Responsible for the East Anglia Depots, you will be expected to travel the region covering Skegness, Peterborough, Chelmsford and Great Yarmouth.What will I be doing?
  • Conduct accurate, impartial and timely audits in a specified audit area (approx 40 depots) to ensure completion of the annual plan
  • Maintaining independence and impartiality whilst working with field management to ensure improvements are implemented. Not subjugating the higher requirements of independence and providing assurance to the Board, to the local requirements of operational management, where there are important issues at stake.
  • Maintaining effective communication with depots and area managers to ensure they are aware of issues.
  • Verifying with senior auditors and progressing any instances of fraud.
  • Ensuring any control weaknesses are highlighted to compliance management and senior management.
  • Undertaking ad-hoc projects relating to areas of control concern or potential improvement to business processes during the year, either alone or in conjunction with senior auditors.
  • Attending and aiding in the presentation of targeted training sessions or updates to depot managers at area and regional meetings to promote good compliance practices.
  • Attending meetings to promote and present compliance topics.
What we need from you
  • Experience of working in internal audit with a good knowledge of the principles of Internal audit, and risk and control within the retail or trade industry.
  • Good working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office Packages.
  • Attention to detail, analytical with thorough investigative skills.
  • Numerate and with good written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent relationship building skills, able to manage relationships with auditees and area managers effectively.
  • Presentation skills and confident when asked to present to a group.
  • Hold a full driving license.
  • Relevant degree, accounting qualification or Internal Audit professional Qualification (IIA) would be desirable.
  • Knowledge of SAP finance modules, or of K8 would be desirable.
