Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a committed Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join one of our welcoming partner secondary schools in the Totton area from September.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a supportive environment and is eager to help students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, or other learning barriers achieve their full potential.Key Responsibilities:Deliver one-to-one or small group support to students, helping them engage with their learning.Assist teaching staff with lesson preparation, classroom activities and pupil engagement.Promote confidence, independence and positive learning habits.Support pupils with SEN and SEMH needs, tailoring approaches to suit individual learning styles.Help manage behaviour effectively, following school policies and procedures.Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.What We’re Looking For:Experience: Previous work with secondary-aged students is preferred, especially those with additional needs.Knowledge: Understanding of SEN and behaviour support strategies is desirable.Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with a calm and encouraging approach.Commitment: A reliable, enthusiastic team player who shares our commitment to student wellbeing.Safeguarding: Awareness of safeguarding and child protection expectations in a school setting.
