- Set and Enforce Standards: Develop, document, and enforce robust mechanical design and manufacturing processes to achieve error-free production of vinyl and CD manufacturing equipment.
- Error Prevention & Root Cause Elimination: Proactively identify potential sources of error and variability. Implement corrective and preventive measures to achieve zero-defect outcomes.
- Process Creation & Optimisation: Design workflows, documentation systems, and checkpoints that minimise risk and make error prevention scalable, ensuring consistent quality..
- Precision Engineering: Deliver 3D CAD models, technical drawings, and BOMs with meticulous attention to manufacturability, repeatability, and compliance.
- Quality Assurance: Lead inspection, testing, and validation of mechanical systems. Implement systematic quality controls that guarantee reliability.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the CTO, manufacturing partners, and cross-functional teams to ensure that all mechanical solutions are fully integrated and meet our quality benchmarks.
- Mentorship: Share best practices and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of discipline, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Suggest incremental innovations and improvements that strengthen reliability and efficiency without compromising control.
- Ensure Compliance: Uphold industry standards, safety regulations, and internal quality benchmarks at all times.
- Incremental Innovation: While the focus is on control, you will also have the opportunity to suggest and implement incremental improvements to processes and systems that further reduce errors and enhance reliability.
- Deep, hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining machinery, automation, or high-precision systems.
- Proven track record of delivering reliable, high-quality results, demonstrated through a portfolio, project examples, or other evidence of impact.
- Expertise in CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD, etc.) and engineering analysis, with strong knowledge of materials, mechanics, tolerancing, DFM/DFA, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to identify, analyse, and eliminate sources of error in mechanical systems.
- Strong discipline in documentation, process creation, and compliance with standards.
- Clear and direct communicator who values feedback as a tool for continuous improvement.
- Experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001), root cause analysis, or Six Sigma methodologies (preferred).

- Knowledge of vinyl or CD production processes.
- Experience scaling engineering in startups or fast-growth environments.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
