To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.Domestic Services Department are recruiting Domestic Assistants to undertake cleaning responsibilities at Perth Royal Infirmary and across Perth & Kinross locality, to deliver the highest standard of cleanliness within the healthcare setting. This includes areas such as wards, side rooms, theatres, offices, health centres, GP practices etc.You must have the ability to:
  • Work as part of a team or on your own initiative. This may include lone working
  • Possess good verbal/written communication skills and communicate information effectively
  • Ability to respond constructively to unpredictable situations and remain effective under pressure
  • Complete Domestic related paperwork
  • Have awareness of basic H&S and Infection Control issues associated with the role
  • Carry out tasks in a methodical manner
  • Follow instructions
  • Carry out mandatory training, online and face to face
  • Undertake a range of duties in safe and competent manner, which includes walking and standing for most of the shift, bending, stretching, pushing, pulling and lifting, using appropriate aids
  • Ability to work in busy clinical and non-clinical environments. This may include working in areas with increased heat, secure units, and areas with distressed patients
  • Work in environments that may be classed as infectious
  • Understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality
  • Ability to learn and adapt
