About the role:
  • As a Learning Support Assistant, you'll work closely with the Learning Support Coordinator, Inclusion Manager and teaching teams to ensure students with SEN can access the curriculum, develop their independence and thrive socially and academically.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Supporting learners in lessons and college-led activities
  • Facilitating access to assistive technologies and learning tools
  • Helping learners develop key skills and self-advocacy
  • Supporting with personal care, well-being and mobility
  • Assisting with assessments and individual support planning
  • Promoting inclusion and removing barriers to participation
About you:
  • You'll need a good standard of education and a minimum of Level 2 in Maths and English (or be willing to work towards it). Experience supporting SEN learners in an educational setting is highly desirable, and confidence in assisting with personal care is important.
  • Strong communication, IT, and teamwork skills are essential, along with a sensitive and positive attitude towards learners' needs.
  • Experience with BSL, MAKATON or Sign-a-Long would be a bonus, but is not required.
