Your key responsibilities:
  • Operate an HGV Class 1 lorry safely and efficiently, adhering to all road and health & safety regulations
  • Collect commercial waste and bins across designated Portsmouth routes
  • Perform manual handling (handball) where required, supporting refuse collection
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any faults to ensure safety and compliance
  • Maintain clear communication with the control team and customers
  • Other duties related to waste collection and vehicle operation as directed
What we’re looking for:
  • Valid HGV Class 2 licence with a clean driving record
  • Experience in refuse collection or commercial waste handling preferred
  • Strong manual handling skills and physical fitness
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Good communication skills and a proactive approach to safety
