We are seeking a dedicated Lecturer in Technical Construction (Built Environment) to deliver high-quality teaching and learning across a range of programmes. You will inspire learners of all ages and abilities, contribute to curriculum development, and support students to achieve their full potential.Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective teaching, assessment, and feedback in line with awarding body requirements
- Develop and maintain teaching materials, schemes of work, and assessment plans
- Support learners as a course tutor, tracking progress and maintaining accurate records
- Assist in student recruitment, admissions, and promotional activities
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and resource planning
- Build and maintain links with industry professionals and stay up to date with sector developments
- Uphold safeguarding, equality, and health & safety standards at all times
- Level 5 qualification or degree in Construction and the Built Environment
- Substantial, recent, and relevant industry experience
- Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills
- Ability to motivate and support learners of all backgrounds
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults
- Certificate in Education, PGCE, or equivalent (or willingness to work towards)
- Assessor (A1) and/or Internal Verification (V1) qualifications
- Experience teaching T Levels or knowledge of Design, Surveying, and Planning
- Up-to-date knowledge of construction sustainability, retrofit, and green skills
- Enhanced DBS check required
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Ability to travel independently to other college sites
- Support to gain teaching qualifications if not already held
