Description:St Margaret of Scotland Hospice seeks to appoint two Specialty Doctors in Palliative Medicine to support the delivery of the highest standard of Specialist Palliative Care to those living with progressive life limiting illness both within the Hospice setting and within its geographical localities - East Dunbartonshire, West Dunbartonshire, Northwest Glasgow and beyond.The post holders will join an innovative and dynamic multidisciplinary team, sharing responsibility for the development of an inspiring and enriching education programme in partnership with the Hospice Education Team. The Hospice hosts a variety of students and professional visitors who wish to gain a deeper insight into the philosophy and practices underpinning the delivery of Hospice Care.Service delivery will include clinical and educational support to the Hospice Inpatient Units and Community-Based Palliative Care Service which includes Virtual First Assessment Clinics, Virtual Symptom Management Clinics, Face to Face assessment and support via Outpatient Symptom Management Clinics and Home Visits and the 24/7 Support Service which is a vital service for those supporting someone at home. The 24/7 Support service is accessed by patients, families, GPs, ANPs, DNs, Scottish Ambulance Service - Advanced Paramedics/Paramedics, and members of the general public.There will be close working with Primary Care colleagues and Acute Colleagues across NHSGGC, as well as those supporting residents/clients living within local Nursing/Care Homes. This is an excellent opportunity for applicants interested in Palliative Medicine to experience the delivery of a high standard of Specialist Palliative Care across a variety of care settings.The Multidisciplinary Team for St Margaret of Scotland Hospice includes Consultants, Specialty Doctors, Clinical Fellows, Clinical Nurse Specialists/Senior Managers, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Advanced Practitioners, highly skilled Registered and Auxiliary Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Social Worker, Complementary Therapists and Clinical Administration Team.Both posts are based in St Margaret of Scotland Hospice. The Specialty Doctor post includes the provision of on-call support, with the Specialty Doctor participating as first on-call.Full registration with a License to Practice with the GMC is required. (License to Practice must be in place prior to starting in post).
