
Mechanical Design Engineer

- Carry out detail design activities to meet the requirements of design to manufacture
- Conduct thorough investigations of non-conformance issues, including root cause analysis and failure mode analysis.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to develop and implement design and corrective actions.
- Monitor and track the progress of corrective actions, ensuring timely completion and effectiveness.
- Implement Drawing/ Definition Change Requests
- Maintain accurate documentation of non-conformance reports, investigations, and corrective actions.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes and reduce non-conformance occurrences.
- Proficient in 3D CAD package for both modelling and drawing, ideally PTC CREO v7 and TEAMCENTER UNIFIED
- Mechanical engineering detailed design - first-hand experience of engineering design.
- Ability to develop and update Creo models and drawings
- Ability to compile manufacturing drawings so BS8888 drawing standard with an understanding of TeamCenter Unified (TCU) PLM, to allow drawing and part sign-off
- Ability to interpret and create high quality engineering CAD models and manufacturing drawings, including GD&T
- Experience in designing mechanical components, parts, assemblies and subassemblies for heavy industry, power transmission systems, gear and Gear box
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Previous experience in a similar role within the Aerospace and Defence industry.
- Experience in heavy engineering industry, power transmission systems, gears and gear box
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems and industry standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001, BS8888)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and continuous improvement.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
