Reporting to: Road Risk Co-OrdinatorAre you passionate about raising driving standards and supporting your colleagues to be the best they can be?We’re offering an exciting opportunity to join our Driver Quality Monitoring (DQM) team — a specialist unit that plays a vital role in enhancing performance, improving road safety, and delivering excellent service to our passengers.This role is open to internal applicants only and is ideally suited to current Driving Instructors, Driver Mentors, or experienced drivers who are ready to take the next step in their career.What You’ll Be Doing
- Assessing driving quality: Conduct covert and overt observations of drivers during live service, identifying strengths and areas for development.
- Supporting improvement: Provide constructive feedback and work one-to-one with drivers to help them improve.
- Responding to concerns: Act on poor assessments or reports from TfL, providing coaching where needed.
- Driving standards forward: Act as a champion for safe, customer-focused, and compliant driving across the network.
- Collaborating across teams: Work closely with Operations, Training, and Road Risk teams to recommend interventions and identify training needs.
- A minimum of 3 years' PCV licence experience.
- A clean driving record — no recent avoidable collisions, poor assessments, or complaints within the last 2 years.
- Strong observation and communication skills — both verbal and written.
- Confident in providing feedback and coaching to others in a constructive, professional manner.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently across multiple depots and shifts.
- Driver Qualification Card (DQC) is preferred, but we can support you in obtaining this if required.
- Basic IT skills to complete digital reports and records.
- Play a key role in supporting safe, professional bus operations.
- Develop your skills in assessment, coaching, and performance improvement.

- Assessments will take place across various depots in North, East, and Southeast London.
- Flexibility is required — assessments may include early, late, night, and weekend shifts.
