Learning Support Assistant – SouthamptonGSL Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Southampton. This is a full-time opportunity, starting in September/October, with interviews scheduled once the school returns from the summer break.The school is known for its inclusive culture, modern facilities, and commitment to both student and staff development. With excellent career progression pathways available, it’s a great place to establish yourself and grow within education.The Role:As a Learning Support Assistant, your role will be varied and rewarding, including:
  • Providing tailored support for students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Working closely with teachers to deliver engaging learning experiences.
  • Running small group or one-to-one interventions to help pupils progress.
  • Supporting students’ personal, social and emotional development.
  • Helping create a safe, positive, and encouraging classroom environment.
About You:
  • Experience working with young people in an education, youth work or care setting is desirable.
  • You will be patient, adaptable, and passionate about supporting students with additional needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and inspire are key.
  • A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people.
