Grid Connections and Energisation ManagerLocation
  • UK wide hybrid with regular site visits (office in Leicester)
Salary
  • £70,000 to £90,000 depending on experience

OverviewOwn commissioning and the end to end grid connection for utility scale Solar PV and BESS projects. Plan and lead commissioning, manage DNO interface, deliver G99 compliance and drive energisation to handover. Work across design, construction and operations to remove risk and keep programmes on track.Key outcomes
  • Sites energised on time and within budget
  • Zero lost time incidents during commissioning
  • G99 and grid code compliance first time
  • Clean handover to operations with full documentation
Core responsibilities
  • Plan and lead all commissioning phases for Solar PV and BESS
  • Create and own commissioning plans ITPs test packs and RAMS
  • Coordinate FAT and SAT functional tests and performance validation
  • Manage the grid connection process from offer acceptance to energisation
  • Liaise with DNOs and National Grid on studies protection settings and witness tests
  • Own G99 submissions compliance testing and evidence packs
  • Identify and manage risks on grid capacity timeline and cost
  • Provide technical input to design and balance of plant to optimise grid strategy
  • Oversee SCADA integration communications and data acceptance
  • Lead on site troubleshooting and punch list close out
  • Maintain HSE compliance and CDM duties during commissioning
  • Produce handover dossiers O and M inputs and training for site teams
Requirements
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
  • Proven delivery of utility scale Solar PV and or BESS commissioning in the UK
  • Hands on experience with DNO processes and grid code compliance including G99
  • Strong knowledge of HV and MV systems up to 132 kV including protection and settings
  • Experience with SCADA and PLC interfaces and site acceptance testing
  • Clear stakeholder management with EPCs DNOs OEMs and client teams
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
Desirable
  • IET membership or working toward
  • SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely
  • Experience with GPM or Inaccess or similar SCADA
  • Knowledge of ENA documents and DNO protection philosophies
