Key Responsibilities:
  • Daily Vehicle Checks: Conduct thorough inspections of the van to ensure it is safe and roadworthy.
  • Report any defects or issues immediately to maintain high vehicle safety standards.
  • Efficient Route Planning: Organise and plan delivery routes to maximise efficiency and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Adapt routes as necessary based on road conditions and deadlines, ensuring optimal productivity.
Loading and Unloading:
  • Safely load and unload goods, ensuring items are securely fastened and protected during transit. Handle goods with care to prevent damage and ensure top-quality service.
  • Warehouse Duties: Assist with warehouse operations, including picking, packing, and sorting goods.
  • Ensure the warehouse is clean, organised, and safe at all times.
  • Paperwork Management: Accurately complete all necessary paperwork, including delivery notes and collection receipts.
  • Ensure all documentation is signed and collected upon delivery or collection to maintain accurate records.
  • Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with store personnel and customers. Address and resolve any issues or queries promptly to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations, including the safe handling and transport of goods. Report any incidents or accidents immediately to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Team Collaboration: Work independently and as part of a team to achieve common goals. Demonstrate reliability, flexibility, and a positive attitude to contribute to a cohesive team environment.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience as a van driver, preferably in a multi-drop delivery environment.
  • Licence: Valid UK Driving Licence with Category B entitlement and no major endorsements.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and spoken English skills.
  • Organisational Skills: Excellent organisational skills to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Health and Safety Awareness: Familiarity with relevant health and safety regulations.
