Contract Type: Day-to-day/ Long Term, Full time / Part timeAre you a passionate SEMH Teacher committed to supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs?GSL Education are looking for an experienced SEMH Teacher to work with schools in Sheffield.As an SEMH Teacher, you will deliver high-quality teaching and interventions to pupils with social, emotional, and mental health challenges. You will collaborate with teaching assistants, support staff, and parents to ensure each pupil receives individualised support. You will monitor progress, adapt strategies, and foster pupils’ personal, social, and academic development.Responsibilities of a Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Teacher:
- Plan, deliver, and assess lessons tailored to pupils with SEMH needs.
- Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and interventions.
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, staff, and parents.
- Maintain a positive and structured classroom environment.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide regular feedback to staff and parents.
- Adapt resources and teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
- Participate in school trips, extracurricular activities, and special events.
- Promote confidence, resilience, and independence in pupils.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching pupils with SEMH needs in UK schools.
- Strong knowledge of SEMH strategies, frameworks, and legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting pupils.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
