The Opportunity:Ashurst's Global CMG team is located in major cities across EMEA, Asia Pacific and the US. We execute the firm's strategy and drive profitable growth with a specific focus on our chosen practices, industries, markets and clients. We focus on client experience, driving campaigns, leveraging client insights, and managing strategic initiatives to service our client's needs.This is a senior role in the CMG team, responsible for driving collaboration, growth and client engagement for the Corporate Practice.The Corporate team is a key engine for growth for the firm and a focus of the firm's strategic plan. Our full service team advise clients on their most important corporate matters.Reporting into the regional Clients, Markets & Growth Director, the Senior Manager will serve as a member of the regional Markets & Growth leadership team and will work closely with the UK and EMEA Corporate Partners to develop, define and execute the business development strategy across the region.The position requires close collaboration with other Markets & Growth Senior Managers, Industry and related Practice Partners, and the broader Clients, Markets and Growth function to bring a comprehensive "whole of Firm" approach to our clients.Key responsibilities of the role include:
  • Work with the Practice Head and Lead Partners for key groups to develop the Corporate strategy to maximise opportunities to grow revenue in line with the firm's strategic plan
  • Act as a senior advisor to the Practice Head and Practice Partners, supporting the execution of the strategy
  • Utilise market and client insights to keep up to date with current and emerging issues impacting the market to identify areas of client need and opportunities for lead generation, with the goal of identifying opportunities to deepen our client relationships and market penetration
  • Cultivate a targeted portfolio of clients and targets for the Corporate Practice
  • Drive the Voice of Client programme by conducting and capturing client feedback through client listening, matter and pitch debriefs, sharing insights and taking responsibility for following up

  • Extensive previous experience professional services / Industry Business Development environment
  • Demonstrated leadership experience for both coaching teams and managing major projects and/or initiatives
  • Commercial awareness and an innovative mind-set for developing and evolving ways of working
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build trusting relationships with the partnership and business services.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to effectively interact with peers and influence internal clients including senior stakeholders
