You will be instrumental in ensuring that cost reduction initiatives are executed seamlessly, delivering measurable success for the business.Job DescriptionEssential Responsibilities:Cost Reduction Strategy Development: Analyse current production products and processes to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining product quality and performance.Product Impact Analysis: Evaluate the technical and functional impact of proposed cost-reduction changes on product performance, reliability, and compliance with customer requirements.Design change implementation: Drive design change implementation through prototype development, testing, and comprehensive documentation to ensure seamless integration and functionality.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and procurement teams to develop and implement cost-reduction initiatives.Customer Engagement: Collaborate with customers to communicate proposed changes, address concerns, and ensure alignment with their expectations.Continuous Improvement: Apply creative problem-solving and lean principles to identify ongoing opportunities for cost optimisation.Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with cost-reduction changes to ensure product integrity and customer satisfaction.Technical Expertise Application: Leverage your engineering knowledge to creatively solve challenges and innovate solutions that balance cost, quality, and delivery.Compliance and Standards Adherence: Ensure all cost-reduction initiatives comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.Educational Background:Bachelor's degree in relevant field from an accredited university or college (or equivalent knowledge and experience)Experience:
  • Proven experience in electronics engineering, with a focus on product design, manufacturing, or cost optimisation.
  • Significant industry experience, ideally in aerospace, automotive, or other high-tech manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic components, systems, and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with design-for-cost principles, value engineering, and cost reduction methodologies.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools, simulation software, and other engineering design platforms.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with internal teams and external customers.
  • Ability to present technical concepts and cost-reduction strategies clearly and persuasively.
  • Creative and analytical mindset with a proven ability to identify and implement innovative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements relevant to electronics
