- Educated to A-level standard or equivalent, with demonstrable experience and understanding of SEND, including the SEND Code of Practice and the Children and Families Act 2014
- Strong understanding of Surrey's SEND policies and practices, alongside national SEND guidance and legislation
- Familiarity with Surrey County Council's Local Offer and the provision across mainstream and special schools, or a willingness to develop this knowledge
- Knowledge of evidence-based interventions and the ability to clearly articulate recommendations in written reports
- Proven ability to write and amend EHCPs, and present cases to a multi-disciplinary panel when required
- Experience of working collaboratively with children, young people, and families to ensure their views are actively heard and applied
- Extensive experience supporting vulnerable children and young people, particularly those with SEND
- Competence in a range of IT tools including MS Office and database management systems
