- Procurement of specialist products using AstraZeneca's COUPA platform
- Ensuring compliance of activities performed in adherence with defined schedules and quality within a specified area. Act and report on deviations
- Act as a key point of contact for all research staff to deal with queries pertaining to all stages of the procurement process
- Reviewing of Supplier Health reports; working with the Director of Compliance and Welfare
- Communicate with internal stakeholders to understand requirements
- Creation, maintenance and updating relevant documentation in support of service delivery, compliance and training
- Report on KPIs, metrics, SLAs and weekly tasks as required and outlined in standard work
- Liaise with AZ procurement and external suppliers to leverage best price
- Procurement of specialist products using AZ's COUPA platform
- Broad understanding of products and keeping up to date with external benchmarks
- Regular reviews with customers to ensure the service is optimal, accurate and efficient
- Resolve or escalate complex queries from stakeholders or vendors relating to the procurement process
- Foster an efficient, friendly and supportive team atmosphere
- To carry out all support activities in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines, GLS & local agreements
- Proactively identify and support operational efficiencies by implementing process improvements
- Support the purchasing of capital equipment and consumables for new and existing facilities across sites in the UK and US
- Coordinating technical activities and communicating with customers, Avantor colleagues and third parties to ensure a professional level of service is provided
- Work with colleagues within and outside the team in a flexible and collaborative manner
- Actively seek and report back on any cost savings/ cost avoidances that could be found during the procurement process
- Adheres to Health and Safety regulations and follows Avantor Work Instructions
- Works proactively with manager to ensure all training activities are completed and signed off in a timely manner
- High level attention to detail, self-motivated and dependable
- Enhanced Technical Requirements: sensitivity to and understanding of In Vivo bioscience activities is essential
- Knowledge and understanding of operating and reporting within a regulated environment
- Notification of imports to DEFRA/border agency
- Experience working with SHE policies and procedures
- Proven excellent customer service focus and ability to work collaboratively

- Experience working with procurement systems or in a procurement role previously is essential

- A competitive salary in the range of £27000 to £30,000, dependent on experience.
