
Senior Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls Engineer

You will play a role in pushing forward the skills and abilities of the electrical team members, including supervising and training junior engineers. You will guide infrastructure projects of various sizes, taking on project leadership and client facing activity. You will be involved in feasibility, preliminary design, detailed design and site stage activities of major and minor projects (new and refurbishment).
You will also be expected to establish strong links with our clients and external contacts. Your input to the resource planning of the teams, including sharing resource across the sub-regions, will be expected.
This role will need excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, as a technical ambassador for Arup, working closely with our Alliance partners & clients, the engineering and construction communities.We are looking for candidates who can show successful delivery within an electrical and / or control & instrumentation engineering role/environment including:
- MV / LV power design and distribution
- Building services systems including fire alarm, security, lighting design, lightning protection, earthing etc
- Control & Instrumentation systems
- Ability to direct project teams
- Clear comprehension of, or experience within a client facing & construction environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, adaptable, resilient and able to work in multi-disciplinary settings
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Confident working within a regulated and quality assured system in roles reliant upon professional engineering judgement and where design was a major part of the role
- Knowledge of relevant design tools, techniques and related methods, e.g. IT systems, BIM, thermal/energy analysis, calculations packages, etc.
