- Confidence running group work and behaviour management.
- Reinforcing learning objectives set by the teacher.
- Assisting with literacy and numerical tasks breaking them down into more manageable steps.
- Understanding the individual needs of the pupil to best support them in class.
- Previous experience working with SEN children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with the pupil, parents and colleagues effectively.
- Patience, empathy and resilience to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Relevant qualifications and training in supporting children with SEND.
- An understanding of relevant safe guarding and child protection procedures.
