The Global Executive Events and Sponsorship Director is responsible for developing and managing the public conference attendance schedule of our CEO and other Exec leaders. The successful candidate will be a creative and strategic thinker who is passionate about building relationships with clients and partners. The incumbent will need a good understanding of the Asset Management, Digital and Geopolitical speaking circuit and be responsible for making recommendations for our CEO’s attendance, ensuring successful implementation at each event.This role is complementary to regional events resources and should predominantly focus on brand building as well as corporate events and work in close partnership with regions where needed on Distribution-led activities. These events will align with our growth strategy and include a focus on Alternatives and Digital Assets.Additionally, the role will be responsible for developing and executing marketing and promotional plans (in conjunction with our regional marketing teams) to increase brand visibility and awareness (and to leverage Senior Executive time) and presence around these key conference events. In addition, they will be responsible for developing a social media program to support the Executive’s key themes.What are the ongoing responsibilities of the role?Program Management - Sponsorships:Conduct in-depth analysis on major conference opportunities including assessment of potential value and negotiations with vendor to maximize the value.Lead efforts to work with Executives to understand their goals and desires for each Conference opportunity to ensure expectations are taken into consideration in negotiations.Responsible for conference evaluations and presentation to senior executives during the planning process and on an ad hoc, upon request basis.Communicate and present points of view and analytical evaluations using models based on industry best practices to evaluate conference value.Partner with regional teams to identify and prioritize client opportunities at conferences and coordinate on-site Exec meetings accordingly.Accountable for global events to be delivered on time, in budget and exceeding client expectations.Initiates, coordinates, and oversees the planning, management, and execution of global events in close partnership with regional marketing teams (including global 3rd party conferences and sponsorships such as World Economic Forum, Fortune Global Forum, COP, PRI in person and cross-regional proprietary events such as the Global Investor Forum (GIF), Innovation Form etc.Coordinates the development of a global events strategy in partnership with regions, identifies key criteria to determine priority global events for FT.Provides information to the Executive Leadership team in determining which events are strategically critical, each event’s focus & objectives, and suggested attendance at the event.Works in close partnership with the Brand team to develop a global brand presence strategy for events with an aim to amplify brand visibility, enhance client experience, improve Franklin Templeton brand perception and recognition and effectively communicate business priorities and brand personality.Agency and Vendor Relationship Management:Lead day-to-day relationships with conference organizers where there is no regional involvement.Oversee/responsible for leading the execution of all contracts, master services agreements, statements of work and authorizations to purchase conference attendance, working directly with legal leadership and senior executives internally as well as with agencies and vendors.Organizes partnerships with event suppliers to ensure economies of scale on an enterprise level.Lead development of process for ensuring documentation is in place and procedures are followed with legal and accounting.Develop full review and value attribution process to aid decision on conference choice.What ideal qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?Bachelor's degree or equivalent experienceExperience with executive level eventsManaging executive presence at these events10+ years of relevant experience with excellent knowledge of global corporate conference sceneAbility to develop and maintain relationships with corporate sponsors, senior executives, and internal partners.Demonstrated contract negotiation skillsStrong writing skills including supporting social media programs for key executivesExcellent communicator with exceptional organizational skillsStrong excel skillsAbility to work both independently and collaborativelyStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsApproximately 25% travel - Ability to travel globally as appropriate
