A rewarding opportunity awaits you in Bournemouth as GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and empathetic individual to join a local school as an Early Years Teaching Assistant (TA) immediately.About the SettingThe school is a special place for Early Years students to adult students with Autism, designed to create a calm and supportive environment for their learning. They have small classrooms, a playroom, sensory room, music room, and playground to enhance their experience. With a high staff-to-student ratio, each child receives individualised support tailored to their needs. The curriculum focuses on the unique requirements of each student, grouping them by similar needs and ages. They prioritise safety with trained staff who take any concerns about neglect or abuse very seriously. The school proudly holds an Outstanding Ofsted rating, reflecting their commitment to providing exceptional care and education for children with autism spectrum disorder and other learning difficulties.About the Role:As an Early Years TA, you will support the lead educators in delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the well-being and independence of those in your care.Key Responsibilities
- Assist in delivering engaging activities that support early learning goals.
- Provide a caring presence to help children feel safe and valued.
- Observe and record children’s progress to support learning plans.
- Work closely with early years educators and parents to ensure consistent care and learning.
- Promote a culture of respect, diversity, and inclusion in the classroom.
- Previous experience working with young children in an early year’s setting is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build trust with children, families, and colleagues.
- A gentle and patient approach to supporting children’s needs.
- A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Early Years Education or Childcare is advantageous but not essential.
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
- Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
