Sheffield, Circa £45,000, Permanent, Bonus, Pension, modern manufacturing facility, 33 days holiday, on site canteen and free car parking.We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing organisation for a Quality Engineer to join their team at their Sheffield site. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in quality assurance within manufacturing to make a real impact and support continual improvement across the business.As Quality Engineer, you will be reporting into the SHEQ Manager and play a key role in maintaining and developing quality systems in line with ISO9001 standards. You will ensure that processes, production, and products consistently meet customer requirements while driving improvements through effective root cause analysis and problem-solving. We are looking for an individual who can shape how quality is delivered, embed new ways of working, and coach teams to make it stick. This is a role where you'll make a real difference. You won't just maintain systems - you'll write and develop quality processes from scratch, then work closely with the shop floor to bring them to life. You'll have the freedom to put your ideas into practice and the support to grow your career as you take on bigger responsibilities.Working as a Quality Engineer you will be working as part of the SHEQ team. Your day to day responsibilities will include;
  • Maintain and audit the Quality Management System in accordance with ISO9001.Manage the internal audit schedule.
  • Liaise with teams across production and design to uphold quality standards throughout all stages of manufacturing.
  • Set and maintain customer quality standards for shipping and final product acceptance.
  • Lead problem-solving activities and implement corrective actions to eliminate sources of defects.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints, monitoring trends to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Developing and writing quality systems and processes in line with ISO9001.
  • Coaching and engaging the shop floor to adopt new processes and ensure they're effective in practice.
  • Taking responsibility for internal audits in the short term, with a view to managing external audits longer term.
We are looking for a Quality Engineer, Quality Manager or Process Engineer with proven experience in a similar role within a manufacturing, production or engineering environment. In addition, the ideal Quality Engineer will have;
  • Experience working in quality assurance within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO9001:2015 (experience with internal auditing desirable).
  • Competence with MS Office and quality management tools.
  • The ability to act as a self-starter, driving initiatives rather than just implementing what's already there.
  • Experience with root cause failure analysis (e.g. 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams).
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • A systematic and detail-oriented approach, with the flexibility to manage multiple priorities.
