- Foster Carer Recruitment and Assessment: Work closely with potential foster carers, conducting thorough assessments to ensure their suitability and ability to provide a loving and safe home for children in need.
- Foster Carer Supervision: Provide regular supervision to foster carers, offering support, guidance, and training to help them meet the needs of the children in their care.
- Case Management: Manage a caseload of foster families, ensuring children's needs are met, and their well-being is paramount.
- Develop and Implement Care Plans: Collaborate with foster carers, children, and other professionals to develop and implement individualised care plans that address the specific needs and aspirations of each child.
- Advocate for Children's Needs: Champion the best interests of children in care, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are protected.
- Liaise with Birth Families: Facilitate positive relationships between foster families and birth families, promoting contact and communication where appropriate.
- Contribute to Service Development: Engage in ongoing professional development and actively participate in initiatives to enhance the team's knowledge and practice in supporting foster families.
- Qualified Social Worker: Must hold a relevant Social Work qualification (e.g. DipSW, BSc, MA) and be registered with Social Care England.
- Experience in Fostering: Proven experience working with foster carers and children in care, demonstrating a strong understanding of the dynamics of foster care.
- Strong Assessment and Planning Skills: Ability to conduct thorough assessments, identify needs, and develop effective care plans.
