We have a great opportunity for a dedicated Geologist or Engineering Geologist to join our Infrastructure Division and wear the SOCOTEC badge with pride.We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Geologist or Engineering Geologist to join our Geotechnical Team. As a Geologist or Engineering Geologist, you'll be supporting our experts with the testing and monitoring of building foundations at the forefront of a variety of projects. We act with integrity, providing support and guidance at every stage during your early career.The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to):
  • Help prepare Health & Safety documentation prior to and during the site works phase, as well as assisting with managing the Health & Safety of operatives and promoting a safe working environment
  • Assisting with the planning, supervision and programming of ground investigation projects at locations throughout the United Kingdom
  • Logging of soil and rock in accordance with the specification and BS5930:2015+A1:2020
  • Keeping accurate field records of tasks performed
  • Performing in-situ testing and sampling in accordance with the specification and current technical standards
  • Liaise with clients / engineers / main contractors throughout the site works phase
  • Post site work visits to undertake monitoring
  • Managing and collating site data using company software systems
  • Be able to compile factual reports
  • Carry out work in accordance with company Health and Safety rules
To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate:
  • Qualified to degree level in a geotechnical discipline
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Computer literate and competent in use of MS
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Good attention to detail
  • Mobility, flexibility and commitment
