Are you an experienced and motivated leader looking to take the next step in your manufacturing career? We are seeking a Production Supervisor to join our dynamic team for one of our clients based in Retford. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in leading shift operations within a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.About the RoleReporting to the Operations Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for the daily leadership of shift operatives and for driving collaboration across key departments including Engineering, Technical, Supply Chain, Warehouse and NPD.Your mission:
  • Lead a team that goes home in the same condition they arrived
  • Deliver safe, high-quality products right first time
  • Achieve operational targets at the lowest possible cost
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with business processes and procedures
  • Maintain adherence to production plans and specifications
  • Deploy the right level of labour with the correct skill sets
  • Uphold and improve GMP and site standards
  • Manage and escalate downtime effectively
  • Coach, develop and discipline team members as needed
  • Manage and improve yield, and report performance metrics
  • Address and close shift complaints and non-conformance reports
  • Communicate clearly and effectively across the site
  • Support recruitment and skill development with the Operations Manager
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in manufacturing, ideally in food, or FMCG
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
  • HACCP Level 2 certification
  • Awareness of BRC standards and IOSH Managing Safely
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement tools and techniques
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence others
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with a focus on solutions
  • Honest, empathetic, and able to build strong cross-functional relationships
  • A true team player with a passion for culture and continuous improvement
  • Ownership mindset with a willingness to take accountability
Key RelationshipsYou’ll work closely with:
  • Operatives and peer Shift Managers
  • Engineers and Technical team (QA)
  • Operations Manager, HR and NPD teams
