The Remote Director of Governance will lead and oversee governance processes, ensuring compliance and best practices in this London based Academy Trust. This role requires a strategic thinker with experience in governance frameworks and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accountability.The Remote Head of Governance will:
  • Develop and implement governance strategies that align with organisational goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and policies.
  • Advise senior leadership on governance best practices and risk management.
  • Oversee the preparation and distribution of board materials and reports.
  • Manage the full meetings cycle for the trust - main trust board & committees for each school (with the assistance of an external co-sec provider).
  • Attendance at meetings will be required.
  • Facilitate effective communication between the board, committees, and stakeholders.
  • Monitor and evaluate governance frameworks for continuous improvement.
  • Provide training and support to board members on governance matters.
  • Lead audits and reviews to ensure adherence to governance standards.

  • Education experience is essential - ideally from an academy trust. Public Sector experience will be considered.

  • Ability to develop and implement strategic governance initiatives.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in preparing detailed reports and documentation.
  • Knowledge of risk management and mitigation strategies.
  • Commitment to maintaining ethical and transparent governance practices.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK
