This role is ideal for graduates looking to develop a deep understanding of neurodiversity and therapeutic interventions before progressing into careers such as Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Clinical Psychology.Your responsibilities will include:
  • Assisting with personal care and feeding, ensuring pupils' well-being and comfort throughout the school day.
  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering structured lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Using speech and language strategies to promote communication and engagement.
  • Encouraging sensory and social development through interactive activities.
  • Managing behaviour using positive reinforcement and autism-specific strategies.
  • Accompanying pupils on school trips and outings, helping to expand their learning experiences beyond the classroom.
  • Working closely with therapists to implement personalised learning and therapy plans.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Graduates with a degree in Psychology, Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Health & Social Care, or related fields.
  • Experience working with children or adults with learning disabilities, autism, or communication needs (voluntary or paid experience is welcomed).
  • A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • Comfortable providing personal care and feeding support as part of a nurturing approach to learning.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and therapists.
  • GCSEs in Maths & English (Grade C and above).
