This new Research Assistant post sits within the Organisational Psychology group in the Department of Psychology at City St George's, University of London. The role supports a major UK Ministry of Defence (MOD)-funded research programme that seeks to develop and implement systematic, evidence-based structures to strengthen workplace wellbeing and resilience across high-stress operational contexts.The programme is led by Dr Jutta Tobias Mortlock, in collaboration with UK government and military stakeholders. The role is ideal for a scientist-practitioner with a postgraduate degree in organisational psychology and a passion for applied, real-world impact.BackgroundThe post-holder will contribute to the successful delivery of a complex, multi-stakeholder research programme by:
  • Coordinating and supporting empirical research projects across multiple military sites in the UK;
  • Facilitating engagement with senior stakeholders across government, academic, and operational domains;
  • Supporting the production of high-quality, timely research outputs and project management deliverables;
  • Helping to convene and deliver national symposia on workplace wellbeing and resilience;
  • Providing insight and analysis grounded in organisational psychology theory and methods.
This role will form part of an existing research project led by City St George's, University of London, in collaboration with a consortium of trusted research partner organisations.Responsibilities
  • Assist in designing and conducting empirical research (qualitative and quantitative) on organisational wellbeing and resilience in high-stakes work settings.
  • Liaise with multiple MOD and academic stakeholders to arrange site visits, meetings, and workshops.
  • Lead on the organisation of stakeholder workshops and project-related events.
  • Prepare and contribute to regular project deliverables, including monthly reports, milestone updates, and risk registers.
  • Collaborate on report writing, research dissemination, and synthesis of stakeholder input into academic and applied outputs.
  • Coordinate logistics and content for symposia and events related to the wider research agenda.
  • Actively contribute to the management of complex research activities across multiple sites
