Multi-Skilled Engineer – Days£42K–£45K | Monday to Friday | Proper Engineering, Not Pretend ProjectsEver found yourself fixing a machine and wondering why no one else bothered to learn how it actually works?Good. You’re exactly who we’re after. This is a multi-skilled role — properly multi-skilled — not just “tighten a bolt and tick the box” stuff. Electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, a bit of machining if needed — the lot. You’ll be part of an engineering team that doesn’t sit around waiting for permission. Something breaks, you sort it. Something could be better, you improve it. A project needs pushing? You get stuck in.It’s a days-based role (Monday to Friday, 42 hours), but there’s a light call-out rota — just Monday to Wednesday evenings, and not every week. In return, you’re paid well, get a strong bonus scheme, and you’re not on shifts. What you’ll be doing:
  • Hands-on breakdown response and maintenance (no babysitting required)
  • Fault-finding across electrical and mechanical kit – including Siemens PLCs (S5/S7), Eurotherm, Uni Drives
  • Helping run improvement projects – not just standing nearby
  • Machining, fabricating, wiring, rebuilding, diagnosing – whatever keeps the place running
  • Keeping reports and records tidy enough to survive an audit (without going full clipboard zombie)
What you’ll need:
  • 17th Edition and some BTEC or C&G mechanical/electrical quals
  • Experience fault-finding on hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC-driven systems
  • Ability to use workshop gear (lathe, mill, etc.) without needing a YouTube tutorial
  • A bit of initiative. (You know, the thing most job specs pretend to want but never reward.)
What you get:
  • £42,000 – £45,000
  • Strong monthly bonus (based on individual performance, not team mood)
  • 33 days holiday (yes, that includes stats)
  • Medical cash plan, cycle to work, and all the usual sensible perks
If you’re tired of maintenance jobs where you spend more time waiting for parts than fixing things — this might be more your pace.Apply now or drop me a message. I’ll tell you the truth, not the corporate version.
