As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be responsible for ensuring reliability and performance across a large-scale heavy industrial plant. The role offers a mix of reactive and planned work, with exposure to a wide variety of equipment.Your responsibilities will include:
- Working across hoppers, mixers, kilns, silos, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and large-scale slicing/mixing equipment.
- Mechanical maintenance including bearing changes, gearbox replacements, pulleys, belts, welding, and fabrication.
- Following PPMs through a tablet-based system, ensuring equipment is regularly inspected and maintained.
- Tackling breakdowns (approx. 70%) with a methodical approach and delivering PPM tasks (approx. 30%).
- Supporting installation of new plant and equipment upgrades.
- Ensuring compliance with site safety and contributing to continuous improvement.
To succeed as a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll need:
- A recognised NVQ Level 3 Qualification.
- Strong mechanical skills in hydraulics, pneumatics, and fabrication/welding.
- Background in factory, forces, or heavy industrial environments
- Flexibility and willingness to train further (hydraulics/pneumatics courses provided).
- A proactive and positive mindset, with the ability to adapt and work well within a team.
