You’ll be part of a friendly, hardworking team that serves up delicious food to hundreds of happy customers every day.About the RoleAs a Kitchen Assistant, you will:
- As a Kitchen Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our kitchen running smoothly and efficiently. You’ll be part of a team that thrives on energy, teamwork, and great food.
- Food Preparation: You’ll start by supporting the team on the salad bar, preparing fresh ingredients and learning the ropes. As your confidence and skills grow, you’ll move on to assisting with the griddle and serving areas, helping to prepare hot meals and support service during busy periods.
- Daily Prep Tasks: You’ll help with prepping vegetables, making soups, and ensuring the salad bar is fully stocked and beautifully presented.
- Kitchen Operations: You’ll be part of a fast-paced kitchen that serves around 300 covers a day, so teamwork and communication are key. You’ll work closely with chefs and other team members to keep everything flowing smoothly.
- Cleaning & Hygiene: At the end of each shift, you’ll help clean down the kitchen, ensuring all surfaces, equipment, and utensils are spotless and ready for the next day. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety is a big part of the role.
- Team Support: You’ll be a key part of the kitchen team, always ready to lend a hand, learn new skills, and contribute to a positive working environment.
- 2–3 years’ experience working in a busy kitchen environment, with a good understanding of prep and service routines.
- A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate – this is a bonus, but not essential as training can be provided.
- A genuine love for great food and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
- The ability to stay calm under pressure, work efficiently to deadlines, and keep a positive attitude.
- A confident, polite, and team-oriented approach – someone who lifts others up and gets stuck in.
- Someone who’s flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
- Competitive Hourly rate: £12.36ph to start.
- Shift Hours: based on 24phw, rota is issued 2 weeks in advance. Shifts depending on opening hours 12:00-21:15 Sunday to Thursday, 12:00-20:30, Friday 07:00hrs – 19:00hrs and Saturday 11:30 – 19:30.
