- Lead on the Health, Safety and Environmental (SHE) arrangements. Develop and implement SHE policies and procedures aligned with industry standards and UK regulations.
- Effectively communicate and implement SHE arrangements across all levels of the business.
- Monitor compliance with relevant HSE legislation and client requirements, ensuring the business remains legally and contractually compliant regarding SHE matters.
- Maintain accurate records and reports of incidents, accidents, and near misses. Produce and effectively communicate SHE management information and performance reports.
- Lead investigations into workplace accidents, injuries, and incidents. Identifying root causes and contributing factors, developing corrective actions to prevent recurrence and improve safety performance.
- Actively support Project Managers and Construction Managers with producing and reviewing project SHE documentation, including general advice on construction-related SHE matters.
- Act as SHE lead and represent the business in client meetings, including HAZCON and other SHE-related committees and forums.
- Actively support SHE training programs. Monitoring current arrangements to ensure personnel are adequately trained in safe working practices. Provide ongoing support and education to promote a culture of safety and environmental awareness.
- Performing regular site and workshop workplace inspections and audits.
- Evaluate SHE performance of suppliers and contractors. Establish minimum SHE standards for external partners.
- Lead efforts to continuously improve SHE performance throughout the growth phase of the business. Identify and implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance safety practice.
- You will hold previous experience in a leading Health, Safety, & Environmental role within the construction industry (Oil & Gas preferable).
- You will hold the NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
- Experienced in international standards for health and safety at work (ISO 45001) and environment (ISO14001).
- Fully conversant with construction processes and CDM Regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, with good organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent IT skills.
- Full UK driving licence, prepared for regular UK-wide travel.
