
Fire Systems Service Engineer (PAVA)

- Maintenance & Repairs: Perform routine maintenance, testing, and repairs on Public Address and Voice Alarm (PAVA) systems and Fire Systems to ensure operational efficiency.
- System Installation & Upgrades: Install and upgrade Fire and PA/VA systems, including speakers, amplifiers, microphones, control panels, and any associated components.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve faults within PAVA systems, both in the field and remotely, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure that all systems are compliant with relevant health and safety regulations, including fire and evacuation requirements.
- System Testing: Regularly test systems to confirm correct operation, including checks for clear sound output, audio quality, and integration with fire alarm systems.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate service records, including test logs, maintenance schedules, and repair histories. Generate reports for management and clients.
- Customer Support: Provide technical support to clients, ensuring satisfaction with system performance. Offer recommendations for improvements and upgrades.
- Training & Guidance: Assist in training staff or clients in the proper operation of PAVA systems and safety procedures.
- Emergency Response: Be available to respond to urgent service requests in the event of system failures, ensuring that all public safety communication remains intact.
- Experience: Proven experience in the maintenance, installation, and repair of PAVA or similar sound systems (fire alarm systems, PA systems, etc.) as well as Fire Systems.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of electrical systems, audio equipment, and relevant software tools used in PAVA systems.
- Certifications: Relevant qualifications in electrical engineering, sound engineering, or similar disciplines (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent).
- Problem Solving: Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and precision, ensuring systems meet safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Health & Safety Knowledge: Understanding of health and safety standards related to electrical systems and public address systems.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call, for emergency maintenance.
- Preferred Skills:
- Experience with digital audio systems and IP-based communication technologies.
- Knowledge of fire safety regulations and experience working in fire alarm integration.
- Ability to perform remote diagnostics and offer client support via phone or email.
