If speculative CVs are sent, no fee will be applicable - please direct all queries to the relevant Resourcing Partner.assistant site manager - oak specialist servicesbirminghamWhat you will be doing:An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Site Manager to join the team at Galliford Try within our Oak Specialist Services Business.Ideally, you will based in or around the Birmingham area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.Reporting to the Site Manager, you will assist in the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of projects on site. You'll be involved in planning, coordination, and supervision of activities to ensure work is completed on time, to specification, and within budget.
- Support the Site Manager in the day-to-day running of site operations.
- Assist in coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and site labour to meet project deadlines.
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate site records including progress reports, site diaries, and quality documentation.
- Participate in progress meetings with project teams, clients, and stakeholders.
- Monitor materials deliveries and ensure proper storage and handling.
- Contribute to the resolution of site issues and the implementation of corrective actions.
- Promote and uphold Galliford Try's values, ensuring a professional and positive site culture.
- Previous experience in a construction or façade environment (assistant site management or similar role preferred).
- Strong understanding of construction processes, ideally with knowledge of façade installation.
- CSCS card holder (SSSTS or SMSTS preferred).
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with multiple stakeholders.
- Commitment to health & safety best practice.
- IT literate (Microsoft Office, project management tools).
