
IT Support Technician (Manufacturing)

- Maintain and repair IT equipment on the shop floor, including terminals, scanners, and label printing systems.
- Minimise disruption to operations by delivering rapid responses to technical issues.
- Ensure robust connectivity for production systems and support the implementation of new automation initiatives.
- Work alongside engineering teams to integrate IT requirements into new machinery and processes.
- Configure and deploy PCs, laptops, telephony, and peripheral devices for staff.
- Manage user accounts, access permissions, and IT assets, ensuring smooth onboarding and offboarding.
- Provide day-to-day assistance with core systems, including Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and ERP software.
- Promote cybersecurity best practice across the organisation, helping maintain compliance with relevant standards.
- Act as the first point of contact for IT queries, delivering clear, timely solutions and recording fixes.
- Keep IT documentation up to date, including system inventories and procedural guides.
- Support upgrade programmes, infrastructure projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure systems remain secure, resilient, and aligned with operational needs.
- A degree in IT or related field with 2+ years' experience, or 5+ years in a similar technical role.
- Solid understanding of Windows environments, Active Directory, and user administration.
- Practical experience supporting IT hardware such as desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and networking equipment.
- Exposure to ERP platforms (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar is desirable).
- Knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals and licensing management.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production setting would be a distinct advantage.
