Are you looking for Teaching Assistant opportunities in Birmingham?Winner Education are recruiting multiple Teaching Assistant’s for a Pupil Referral Unit based in Central Birmingham. Applicants must be readily available to start in September. The role is working across small KS4 classes and will be full time on a long term basis with the possibility to become permanent. Pupils at this school will have various needs including SEMH, Behavioural and Autism.Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Be actively involved in daily routines of classes, groups or individual learners
  • Deliver, monitor and record pupil educational programmes, both inside and outside of the classroom
  • Support the class teacher in tailoring lesson planning to deliver to the pupil
  • Prepare materials and resources for lessons
  • Assist in creating a stimulating learning environment for all learners
  • Provide a high standard of physical and emotional care
  • Attend staff meetings when required
  • Support the transition of learners into school environment
The successful Teaching Assistant will:
  • Be patient in dealing with children with learning difficulties, poor language skills and challenging behaviour patterns
  • Demonstrate initiative
  • Ability to work co-operatively with all teaching staff and LSA’s
  • Liaise with medical staff to meet the needs of the pupils
  • Have previous experience working with KS4 and KS5 children
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills
